I was going through some of my photos that I took this year and thought I’d share a few with you. These are around the family farm and were taken this spring through now. I hope you enjoy!
Thank you for letting me share.
Can you believe it’s August already? How did that happen?
This is the first year that I don’t have to shop for school supplies or clothes, I’m not sure how I feel about that. Of course I’m glad that I don’t have to spend all that money, but my babies are all grown up. It’s going to be strange seeing the the buses and kids out and about and not be a part of it. Before you know it, it will be Fall and the leaves will be changing. With Fall comes football! I like college the best, but watch NFL if the right teams are playing. Yes, I live in Ohio. No, I’m not a Buckeye fan. With all that has happened to OSU this year, I wonder how they’ll do this year. Who will be the best team in the Big 10? I think Nebraska might have a shot. How weird is it that Nebraska is now a part of the Big 10 now? Since Michigan hasn’t been doing very well for a while, I might have to root for Nebraska.
Another thing that happens in the Fall is my new favorite holiday…..Halloween! Halloween was always fun when I was growing up, but I never really got in to it as an adult. That all changed the first time I went to Ghoultide with my sister!
My sister, Connie Porcher, publishes the magazine Celebrate 365. She features a lot of the folk-artists, like Nicol Sayre, Lori Rudolph and Scott Smith, and goes there to take pictures and discover what new artist. Last year we had a booth in the “General Store” where she sold copies of her Halloween edition of the magazine, past and present. We’ll be selling magazines again this year, but in a different location. Because Ghoultide Gathering has become so popular, it has become a two day event! It is in Northville, Michigan September 30 and October 1. I hope to see you there!
You will find a large selection of Halloween items in my store, including jewelry by John Wind, K&K, Debbee Thibault and Art by Amy. I will have some folk art and decorations arriving soon from Nicol Sayre, Elaine Roesle and others, so check back often!
My website is growing so quickly! A lot of the items that I ordered in January at AmericasMart Atlanta have arrived and are up for sale now. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I now have licensed pieces by Folk Artists Nicol Sayre, Sharon Andrews and Heather Myers. These are perfect for Spring and Easter, and are currently 15% off my already low prices by using the code BUNNY during check out. I will soon be adding a couple of Patriotic designs and, eventually, designs for Halloween. And don’t forget about Elaine Roesle and her Snow Children and St Nicholas. She’s a wonderful artist and person- and only lives about 10 minutes away from me!
The jewelry section has exploded! In addition to the new designs by Art by Amy, my collect of John Wind Maximal Art has doubled and also includes designs in silver! He has a new Country Living collection as well. There are currently 3 designs from that line available in my store and a few more that can be pre-ordered. I can’t wait to get the rest of the pieces in stock, they are really awesome! Also new this year is jewelry from Debbee Thibault. She has been creating wonderful Folk Art since 1985, and I am lucky to be able to offer some of her jewelry. There will soon be some special pieces added, so keep watching for them.
Another unique line is Lola Rae by Michele Muska. Michele uses ribbon and cloth to create pincushion jewelry. You will find necklaces, bracelets and brooches that are sure to get you noticed. Still on order from the show in Atlanta is a new line from K&K. I will post a few photo to their page in the store so you can get a feel for what will be offered. A couple of the items will be perfect for Halloween.
The Easter Feather Tree that I was sharing with you is now complete and on it’s way to Utah. You can see a picture of it on the front page of my store. After getting the rest of the items added, and getting some work done in the yard, I will be starting on an order for a fall-colored Feather Tree. Also, I am planning to have a booth at the Farmers Market in Piqua starting at the end of May. I think I’d better get working on some things for that too. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Spring. Thanks for stopping by!
I have all of the branches for the Feather Trees finished and ready for assembly! Now I just need to glue, wire, tape and wrap.
It will be ready to ship soon…….. get those ornaments ready!
